Did I Say That?

Have you ever opened your mouth and said something you didn't mean to say? I am talking about out loud so every one could hear you? I often make remarks in my head, silent and private remarks that I would never in a million years say out loud. Why do I keep them private? I don't want to hurt someone's feelings. I don't want to be rude. I don't know why but a private thought just popped out of my mouth and it upset someone that I happen to think of as a friend. I hate when that happens. My big, fat mouth got me into trouble. I hurt her feelings. I knew as soon as the room got quiet that I had been talking out loud. How oh how do you keep from letting things just pop out of the mouth?

Google - Bulldog clip
Ah, yes, that well known syndrome, cured only by making sure the brain is engaged before putting the mouth into gear... Might I suggest stitches, a bulldog clip or a zipper...?

Ha, ha,ha Do you think any of those things are strong enough to work? It's a good thing I don't have a "slip of the lip" often.

That is sad. I hope you're able to make it up to her in some way.

I am glad I wasn't too rude, I questioned her paint color on her living room way. She thinks of herself as a great designer and I thought the paint was hideous that she used. I should have never opened my mouth.

I am pretty good in keeping my mouth shut. Once the words are out of your mouth you cannot call them back.

@HazySue It happens, we are not always in the mood to keep calm and say nothing.

I used to be good at not saying things. In the last few months however, my mouth has run away with me twice.

I only seem to say the wrong things out loud when I'm talking to my girlfriend. I'm constantly saying things I regret, things that I had never in a million years planned on saying out loud. I mean, nothing abusive or demeaning or anything like that, but I would say more along the lines of being insensitive.

At least you don't spread it around. I think most of us say the wrong things to those we care about most.
