Some days you're the bug, some days you're the windshield

While this is a line from a country song, it was also the way the day went yesterday for us - we were the bug! We got squished at almost every turn....I'll explain. Our broker told us the closing on our property was at the bank across from Lowe's. We went to that bank - no one ever heard of us or him or any closing. It was at a bank further down the highway, not across from Lowe's. Closing went well, got our money and left. Next stop Lowe's for plants. We found what we wanted and got in line. Cashier was about 103 years old and moved slower than molasses going uphill. She was waiting on a woman who bought at least 300 plants and was putting them on the checkout area one by one by one. I told my husband, 'Let's go." Next stop was to be at Ingles for gas to use our 50 cents off a gallon. On the way we saw the flashing lights and traffic dead stopped - Ingles was beyond that mess...no way. So we headed home. Later in the afternoon we went to the bank to deposit the check from the closing. I told my buddy there that we were heading to Madisonville and would check out Lowe's there for plants. She said, there is no Lowe's in that town. OK, so we went to the Walmart near the bank...we've purchased plants there previously. Yesterday the selection was horrible. I don't want a hanging basket for my front porch in a hot pink pot..or any of the other crazy colors. We left plant-less. On to Madisonville (which by the way is a good 45 minute ride at this point) to a garden center that always looked interesting. One person working, no prices or any other information on any of the plants. The woman was so busy flirting with a male customer we left. We headed to Bert's, a decent restaurant where we wondered what could go against us now? Nothing, all was well, great service, the server was the best we've had in a long time. Food was good and we were satisfied. On the ride home we laughed at everything that went wrong, but were grateful for the few things that went right. By the end of the day we decided that today we would be the windshield and someone else could be the bug. Photo from Pixabay

What is your temp. up there? It was over 80 here, but a little on the windy side. Glad you are feeling better.

I don't know that song and have never heard those sayings but they sound pretty apt.

good to know you got your money. if this is in my country, for sure, these scammers flock to the persons who have a large amount of money, and offer them some things to buy, then secretly, they steal.

The money is in the bank so that can't happen!

@AbbyGreenhill that is true, and i don't know how these scammers here in my country can tell somebody to withdraw money from their bank. there is a group we call "budol'budol" where these scammers hypnotize their prospective victims. so many senior citizens fall into these people.

I have all day, but I hate getting the run-around! I dislike 'employees' who are stupid and don't do their job. Lowe's was packed yesterday at 10 am - there were at least 30 in the garden center and one checkout lane open with the slow lady.

If it wasn't for the money that would have been the best idea!
