Major Step Outside My Comfort Zone

I have been hanging out on Live.me. I'm there to try and earn coins so I can give gifts. The intent was to go live myself and get gifts which can be converted to coins to buy gifts, or converted to real cash into my paypal account. My problem is I am not like all those other people on Live.me.
For one, I don't play that funky music they have going on. I don't like the swearing and such. The rap music, current music. I am a country and oldies fan, maybe as recent as 80's. But it's a way to earn money and I want to do it. All my activity, as little as it is, has reached me to Level 5.
I am not very extroverted. I am not a high energy, loud broadcaster. I am more on the shy side. I have seen people who have been boring as heck. But most people are out there. Then there's the likes of Jackie Shultz who does interview/event type streams. No craziness. In fact I told her recently she should be a talk show host. She's that good.
But one night I was visiting a stream and I won a gift. I was told to go live in order for the guy to send it to me. Unfortunately he forgot to follow me and apologized next time I was on his stream. I was live for half an hour just babbling on about who I am and my life. I got a decent number of viewers and likes, but not gifts. Not one gift. If I don't get gifts I can't make more coins to give back.
It was a major step outside my comfort zone. I am reluctant, however, to do it again, but know that I must. I am just trying to come up with something interesting that will give me some gift givers.
Live streaming has come a long way. It's a real money earner. Better than YouTube now. I just have to find something interesting to do so that I am not so boring.
P.S. Do you know how weird it is talking to your own face on the phone?

I've watched some people who just sit there and shout out to everyone who enters their stream. Then I've seen others who just sit there looking at their phone and don't even look at the stream. Then there are those that perform their talents. This could help me broaden my network for when I finally get my book published.

@dhoyalahoy I haven't yet because I've only done one live stream. Everyone is earning money who uses it on a regular basis. I just need to come up with some good content. It's kind of like YouTube except it's live and the money is better.

@flpoolbum The first time I went on I was just being very friendly, talking about myself and saying hi to everyone who entered the stream. It's pretty similar to hiding behind your computer screen.

I wouldn't do it. If I wanted some money that badly I'd go and find me a job.

Live streaming is taking over from YouTube. It's an immediate connection to fans. But there are a whole bunch of people on there who just go on and yell for people to follow them, follow the gifters, share the broadcast, etc. In other words, they're all trying to one up each other even though they are helping one another. I won't do that. Jackie (Mandel) Shultz does more of a talk show type of stream. I love being able to chat with people directly even if they are speaking and I am typing. But there is a feature for face to face call-ins like FaceTime. I don't know that I explained it very well. It's a big thing for young people but people like Howie Mandel participate all the time.
