As Tina wrote, its an egg boiled so that kids can paint, sticker or draw on it. There are also Easter eggs that are plastic eggs, that people put candy and money in then hide them around houses, gardens, yards, play grounds etc for kids to go find.

Easter egg is just a regular egg dyed and decorated.I look forward to seeing what others have to say about it.

Frankly even I have very less knowledge on this! But what @Tina30219 writes is the most appropriate meaning of the same!

It is something from early Pagan traditions. However, some will argue the point that it does not represent to them what it did for the Pagans. Our family is not involved in the Easter egg events for many reasons.

Looks like some have already mentioned, but yeah - it's a hard boiled egg - you can buy kits very cheap to color the shells , or put stickers on them. Another type is a cheap, empty plastic egg shaped container that people often fill with coins, candy, small gifts (usually for kids), and yet another type is highly ornately decorated collectibles. Very expensive. Russia is famous for this.... hopes that helps
