Do you enter sweepstakes / giveaways / holiday packages?

I don't. The majority of those things are just gimmicks to get your email address, your postal address, and sometimes your phone number. It's just a manner to spam you, even if one person does actually win something..
It's still a 1 in a million chance.
Anyway, I have family members who enter these things all the time. From sweepstakes for trips to just entries to win some manner of kitchen appliance. They share it on facebook a lot and I just scroll down, ignoring it.
Anyway, I was scrolling through the bookface site and lo and behold there's one that actually DOES interest me. It's a trip to Ireland... Not Northern Ireland sadly, but Ireland all the same.
Am I going to enter that sweepstakes / contest? Nope...
But it interests me all the same...
Do you enter sweepstakes?

You know there are actual brick and mortar sweepstakes locations? There as one in the village I work in but I think it got closed down...
Scams, the majority of them.

@teamfreak16 Congrats! Yeah contests from sports organizations, radio stations, grocery stores even... those are more reputable and less likely to sell your info.

@ScribbledAdNauseum - I agree. I did once win a Colorado Rockies hat by voting for the all-star game, but that was an official MLB contest.

I used to enter some but found they were too time consuming and my chance of winning was so low I gave it up.

@ScribbledAdNauseum .....I want my primary time online to be used where I am making some $$. I just can't be sure I am going to win anything and so I feel my time is being wasted.

I used to YEARS ago... but I mean YEARS ago...
They are time consuming, you hardly win anything, but you will get spammed.

@celticeagle I understand. The majority of time spent online is to earn some extra cash... and I too like to make the most of it.

I sometimes do but not always! I always use bogus emails though (that are mine but not ones I check as often)

Yes, it's definitely better to have a spam email set up, especially for online earnings... Entering sweeps is just a bonus I guess.

I'm quite picky and only enter competitions on reputable sites who I know won't spam me. I have an email address which I use for all of these sorts of things so that my proper emails don't get clogged up too much.

It pays to be picky as the majority of places will just spam you / sell your info.

I almost never do. The only time I do is when I get a sign-up bonus from a site and the only information they ask for is my email address. I never give my home address or my phone number because I don't need their spam calls or mail. I have a different email address that I use for things like that so I can ignore most of that mail.

Yes, I definitely don't want everyone knowing my postal mail... and I have several emails but only one I check...

Very, very rarely will I fill out a form for a sweepstakes. I get enough junk mail, spam emails and phone calls, I don't want to invite more.

Exactly! I do too.. I even avoid signing up for earning sits that require a legit phone number.
