First time on a rollercoaster

Okay so my first time on a rollercoaster wasn't a very good experience. Like, at all.
My fiancé had taken me to Canobie Lake Park in New Hampshire. It was my first time ever being there, and I didn't know what rides and things to expect..
Well, there was a new rollercoaster there that he wanted to go on, but he already knew I had never been on any rollercoasters before, and that my anxiety would be sky high if I had attempted to even get in line to go on one. As i'm deathly afraid of being up high.
So we went on a few other rides that he knew I liked - the scrambler and tilt o whirl.. then we got a drink and sat for a little bit.. he then mentioned the new rollercoaster again. And how it's new for him too.. and blah blah blah.
So I finally said fine, with tears starting to form in my eyes - just to shut him up.. And we got in line.
The closer we got to the ride the worse my anxiety and tears were. But I put my butt on the seat and buckled up. And told him it was the first and last time I was doing this.
Next thing I knew I was going straight up and then straight down, then around and around, up and down. With tears coming out my eyes, and swears coming out of my mouth, all the way until the ride stopped.
And the second it did, I smacked him on the head with a very angry face. And he was mad at me for a few hours after, but I just looked at him and said 'now we're both mad!' And continued to the next ride I wanted to do.
- Sadly though, that wasn't the last rollercoaster he had me go on either
. I've actually been on at least 6-8 others, and multiple times on each one. And I still don't feel safe or calm on them..
What about you? Have you been on a rollercoaster? Do you have a fear of them?

I can't do rollercoasters because of my heart condition. Glad you ended up going on it even tho it caused your anxiety level to go high. I find roller coasters scary especially when you read them on the news of freak accidents happening.

Exactly! Hearing those stories, and anxiety dont mix! I mean i hated it but it gave us a story to tell our maybe future kids and what not.

i had ridden twice on a roller coaster when i was in Kuwait, with my sister. i really felt crazy when the ride went sideways, as if i was about to fall. the sudden palpitations eventually gave me the ecstasy of enjoyment. but now, i will no longer ride, because my heart might not take the twists and turn of the ride.

I am not good at carnival rides. Any of them. If something scares me and causes me emotional pain like you describe, I say no!! I do not take emotional bullying.

He wasn't really bullying me, he was just trying to get me to get out of my comfort zone and try something new and scary. like he had with a few other rides that day. which is good, and bad in my opinion.

It is fun and very thrilling at first but after sometime you feel dizzy and rightly. I avoid them lol.
