My Morning Walk

We set a goal....now we work towards it.
This morning I called my daughter to see if she was okay to give me a ride home. When she said yes, I headed out.
The first 2 K was walked on th shoulder of the road, then about half a kilometre down an unused road allowance (aka dirt track) before I was at the Friendship Trail.
The Friendship Trail is a recreational trail (paved) following the track left by an abandoned railroad track. The trail is intended for walking, roller blading and bicycling. There are no motorized vehicles permitted on this paved trail.
When I arrived at my daughters house I learned that it was a little more than the 7.5 K I had planned to walk. The final distance shows 7.97 K, but the device measured 8 K when I rang her doorbell.
Tomorrow we are only planning a 2 K walk, and probably only 5-6 K on Wednesday.
Let's keep the momentum going.
When you set a goal, do you work hard towards achieving it?

You're making great strides (no pun intended) with your walking goal. Keep up the good (foot) work!!

I seem to do better at walking when the weather is good. Last year I was confined because if looking after my father...now I'm going to walk myself back into shape.

I spend almost two years with most of my goals on the back burner. Since my father moved to a retirement residence I've been getting more accomplished.

Some of our old railway tracks are put to good use in much the same way as yours. Well done with your efforts. And yes, best to keep the momentum going.

Today was a slower day...the rain and running around after my father kept me from walking very far...just 3 K and that was after supper.

I move around all day, but the walking a a brisk bask is invigorating.

I managed 6.5 K this morning. That's a bit more than 4 miles.

I never have jogged, nor does it appeal to me. Even the walking I am having to pace myself to not overdo. I have just over 8 weeks, so that should be ample time to train.

I'm not sure exactly how it calculates the number of my steps. Sometimes it doesn't seem to acknowledge that I'm walking....but overall when I do a long walk it's fairly close.
