The builder I engaged is a heavy boozer

yesterday I heard very bad about the builder I engaged for my house construction. The people in the locality gave a very poor image of the builder. The profile he got is very low. My friend who got his house constructed had informed that he paid regularly at the time of construction but at the end, he received a bill for another 4 lakhs from the builder and he had refused to pay it. He even after entering into the contract was made to purchase the things of his taste personally and incurring the expenditure from his pocket. He also showed the unfinished work left by the builder and requested not to engage this man. Now, I became totally disappointed. My friend informed that the builder drinks out to the minimum of the rupee in the bar nearby and he got many debts to be cleared. Now I am totally lost. What to do now guys?
