Could This Be The end To Capitalism

I doubt it will be the end to capitalism because people love money to much. That being said, I have seen this before. Right when the news warned us we had a year of drinking water left for the whole state of California if we did not change our ways and conserve.
People started conserving and guess what happened next? Utility companies started raising their prices because conserving water was hurting their bottom line. This my friends is a perfect example of showing you how the economy is rigged.
Now, electric companies are getting worried because so many people are starting to go with solar or other ways with renewable energy. They are worried they will not make enough profits to keep the old electric grid afloat and trying to come up with some kind of compromise.
I have always said it is about having a balanced economy, but funny how they want to compromise now that their record profits are taking a hit. People have been saying for 20 years now the current system is broken. No one wanted to find a better way because they were carrying home suitcases of money.
Just think automation is next and while the rich will be protected for a while and the wealthy probably forever, but eventually the majority of people will get hit hard when automation becomes the way of life.
I mean robots can build more robots. Will we humans all become artists as the only way to make money in this capitalist system? Maybe we all will just have to play the stock market?
How will our leaders handle what will soon be a major crisis of over half the population not being able to work do to automation if we are still using this ancient method of capitalism? I am sure people will still do work, just whether they get paid for it or not is a different story.

They are indeed expensive, but prices are supposedly coming down a bit and they do have some programs to help people qualify for them. It is a pain in the butt and they make it hard on purpose because many still do not want solar to be the way forward.

Its a scary thought, but if it ever comes to total or near all automation, I believe most of us will not be valuable any longer and will be disposed of ...

This assessment or prediction sounds more accurate to me as what will happen. They would just need to make up a reason as to why it is the everyday persons fault so they can sleep at night.

@crossbones27 Yes well in general Crossbones, I do not think 'those' who would be doing the disposing have a conscience, so sleeping for them would not be hard. No guilt.

@crossbones27 "There is nothing new under the sun" - the Bible was right after all. Capitalism will manifest itself in different ways according to circumstances, but it will always be there.

Maybe -people love their capitalism. Even if it is crony capitalism at this point.

It does seem people are going to have another reason to be at each others throats, unless they come up with a better way of doing business in the future.

In theory that would be great and thought that is why we loved innovation in the first place. Not only to be more productive, but make our lives easier and simpler. Making it easier for everyone to make a living. To me, innovation seems to makes things more complicated, but only because people manipulate innovations to where most of the profits go to a tiny few. Then laying people off once they do all the dirty work of getting the inventions up and running.

@crossbones27 You are right, the problem is that people manipulate innovations to keep the supremacy in their fields. We will never get rid of them.

I agree, just funny how we were hearing solar is not sustainable, but keeps growing and growing. Our electric company has been saying forever people need to use less energy and need to switch to renewable/ They started charging more and more. Now I guess they are going to drop the other shoe that to many have solar and they are not making enough profits now. So we have to raise the prices again on the people who cannot afford solar.

Now you are coming into the right track. If solar energy is encouraged and people are trained to have them installed in their houses there will not be a shortage of any powder. Most of it can be utilized by the Government which is not at all profitable. So they approach the Government to discourage the installation of solar panels. They put forth all the evil necessary not to encourage this sector to ripe the benefits for themselves. when Ramar Pillai of India made petrol out of water there has been a hue and cry. Finally, the IITs entered into the field and asked for a demonstration. He gave some demonstration. They struck down his discovery on the ground that he was a fake. One should know that prior to that the same person has given open demonstration in the presence of the Chief Minister and other Common public and asked one Sub=inspector to drive the vehicle filled with the fuel discovered by him which was a great success.

Yeah, always about profits before the helping humanity and nature for that matter. Why Hemp has been illegal in so many places also.
