Marsha's Log: My Quilt Guild Challenge

As a reminder, we were given a fat quarter of the one darker orange, and a fat 8th of the green with the spots. Our instructions were to use those 2 fabrics as well as black and white, and then any other colors we would like---it had to have or be stars---no larger than 30x30. So many mistakes I made on mine. First of all, nothing is sewn on center. Secondly, I didn't have any black left in my stash except 1 3/4 inch strips. Those would have been fine if I didn't discover after sewing the binding to the back just how many places on the front that I didn't hit all of the fabric. I am going to make 5 yo-yo's---one for the center of each star, and one for the center, to cover up where my seams don't match. I will need to get more black fabric and re-do the binding. This needs to be done before the quilt show next year in Wichita as the guild wants all of our challenges to be displayed together there. I guess whenever I get it re-done, I will post about it again and see what you think.

I think this looks great and find that many creative people are their own worse critic. I know I am when it comes to my writing and dancing, I never find it good enough.
