How Do You Input Names In Your Contact List?

In the past, homes and offices had spiral or stitched address books. The pages are marked from A to Z, where you wrote down people's and company names, home and office addresses, landline numbers and fax numbers.
Now, we rely more on our cellphones, email addresses, websites via the internet.
As I scrolled through my cellphone's contact list, here's what I noticed.
The letters A, D, K, M and T have several entries because of how we in the Philippines address people, followed by their nickname or surname.
A is for Ate (Ah-teh) or older sister, D is for Dr. or Dra. (Doktora is female), K is for Kuya (Koo-yah) older brother, M is for Mang or Mr., while T is for Tito and Tita (Uncle and Aunt).
Example: Ate Chona, Dr. Chua, Dra. Gamboa, Kuya Mandy, Mang Lito (tubero/plumber), Tito Romy, and Tita Perla.
Family and friends who are working or living overseas might get a local SIM card to save on texts and calls while they're here.
Example: Jing Canada and Jing Pinas 2015. Pinas is short for Pilipinas (Philippines).
I also mark them if landline or mobile, and the telco/provider. Adding House or Office to the name means it's a landline, while adding Globe, Smart means it's a mobile number and the telco/provider.
Example: Myrna House, Myrna Ofc, Myrna Globe.
Frankly, I don't mind paying double. I usually text both numbers to make sure my message is received. All bases covered, as they say.
For goods and services that I go to on an as-needed basis, I put a combination of the contact person, business name, address or location, and the service, whichever helps me remember, like internet rental/computer repair shops, body massage places, bottled water delivery, etc.
I notice there are no people or places entered for the letters: F, H, Q, U, V, W, X and Z.
Is there a system or pattern in your contact list, too?

I don't have a mobile but in my address book I'll put the same people under different letters to be sure I can find them. Some people I don't know their surname really well so they might be under their Christian name, surname and say, neighbour. Some letters have very few entries.

before cellphones, i had a small address book in my bag. but instead of following the letters, i would group them. like the a to c would be my officemates. d to f would be my college classmates. that way, i don't forget anyone in the group for example, if we're going to meetup.
how do you get in touch with your sons, then - facebook, email?

@hereandthere Occasionally we skype or ring on the home phone. Also email and Vince is on FB and has a mobile phone but we don't usually have the mobile turned on.

I am not that organized
. I create my contact list as the numbers come - and only by the name of the person. I take that back . . . I know a lot of parents/kids, so I will put the parent's name first and then their kids' name after a hyphen just so I remember who that parent is. I am rather lazy about businesses I deal with . . . they are not in my contact list (only doctors, dentists, schools, and any other activity place I pay regularly). But others I have to look it up online each time

@hereandthere I just realized I don't use any profile pics for the phone . . . and I don't have it for anyone else (so I guess that means they don't use it either?). So I definitely rely on the names I have in the contact list.

@hereandthere Now remember I don't keep up with gadget things
. I never uploaded anything to create a profile pic for myself . . . and when people call/text me, it's just the generic graphic for a face there. So that means they have not uploaded a profile pic, right? (or maybe I'm wrong

@much2say you mean you don't have a profile pic and the people there don't have either? that's strange.

What I have a lot in is in a group clustered together under the name bogus and "barat" ( low ballers) these are those I encounter in the many things I sell online, I keep them all on file so incase they contact me again I they do not waste my time
so there are a lot in my letter "B"

now that phones have avatars it's easier to recognize people, or logos when scrolling through your contact list, or when you receive a call or text

I use those "code" too so I can recognize people well; like Tere "Tupig," for the woman who sells tupig or broiled rice roll; Gina "load" for Gina who sells cellphone load, etc.

yes! you get what i mean! hahaha!
but i think it's because i still use my basic cellphone, so there are no profile pictures that show up next to the names that would make it easy to recognize the person.

with the newer phones, yes, it's easier to recognize because of the picture, (just like here in mylot) unlike the basic phones in the past

for parents i use nanay (mother) or tatay (father) because that is how we call them. similar to mom and dad. others use mama and papa.
so for your aunt and uncles, you just put their first names?

@hereandthere Yes, I put their first names, they all have different names, it's not a problem. Only for my Mom I put "Mamma".
