How do you feel about your nipples?

I couldn't think abut anything to write about this morning, so I thought I'd write about my nipples. I just read a post by Jennifer (@LovingMyBabies) about getting a baby fed without tears, and that got me to thinking about my nipples. Mostly, I marvel at how useless they are.
Guys, have you ever wondered what it would be like to breast feed a baby? I have. I love holding babies, and they seem to love being held by me, but if they start crying, and it's a hungry cry, I amuse myself by thinking that if I offered them a nipple, all they'd get would be a mouthful of hair.
Here's the science part: Did you know that when we hug anyone we care for, our bodies are flooded with oxytocin, the so-called "cuddle hormone"? So when I'm carrying a baby around, and we're labeling stuff ("ball," "plant," "tree," "War and Peace," "nipple") both baby and I are getting rush of a healthy hormone. Oxytocin suppresses cortisol, a major stress hormone, and too much cortisol is bad for both our immune systems and our thinking.
But I digress. In the mornings, as I stand there brushing my teeth, I see my useless nipples in the mirror. I sigh. And chuckle. Do you even know why men have nipples? I think I do, but I'll save that for another post. How often do you think about your nipples? Are they your friends?

Nipple Naming? I think this children's program from the days of BBC children's TV in B&W captured it to a tee:

Blame @LovingMyBabies! She got me thinking about babies and feeding and bottles and nipples this morning. I was going to do another post about my blasted snow peas!

One of mine used to be pierced, otherwise, no, I don't think about them.

@TheHorse - You might as well. I've got three in my left ear, and three holes in my right, but I haven't worn those for years.

@LovingMyBabies Are you trying to maintain your girlish figure? I used to have quite the figure and was even a stomach model for a photographer! Now I look more like Winnie the Pooh.

Mine have done an awesome job of providing nourishment for five children. Healthy, happy and now all grown up.

I am so restraining myself right now...I know nipple talk! Okay I will share.... no I cant, well ........... One thing.
I like my nipples
Many years ago I had cancer and had to have a hysterectomy, well one thing no one talks about is the nipples afterward, They are less sensitive. I am serious it was the strangest thing to get used to, plus without the hormones you do go kind of crazy, but I got the pills and I am back
I need more hugs!

But on to more serious/"academic" matters: I'm glad you beat the cancer. I have an ex- who I'm still really good friends with. She also had cancer and a hysterectomy. She sometimes comes over and we snuggle on my bed while she tells me her latest boyfriend woes. Her nipples were super-sensitive back in the day (when we dated). Is that too much disclosure? Anyway, we haven't "made whoopie" since she had her hysterectomy. We dated in the late '90s. Maybe I'll request some romance "in the name of research."

Wouldn't you like to know?
I'm thinking I would like to get mine pierced but I am too scared of nerve damage or wearing clothing after.

@TheHorse Ah yes... I think I'm too much the coward to actually do it. It looks cool though! I'm out of room on my ears. (I have 3 in each side)

Well, I like my nipples but they are rather useless too. I am beyond baby bearing years. Lol. Now they are something to look at. Nothing more.
