Cats vs Dogs

The debate that never ends. Some prefer the loyalty of dogs. Others prefer the independence of cats. There are many pros/cons that get argued back and forth between the two groups. But I've never seen 'vomit' mentioned. Maybe because most dog-owners don't have to clean it up. It isn't dogs don't vomit...it is 75% of the time, they'll end up eating it...again. Cars are more like 'Here hoomin, there's something for you to do'. Dammit.

@JolietJake Like you've never horked and horked before getting the phlegm outta your lungs.

What I hate is when they go on...and on...and on...before finally coughing it up.

Seeing cats or dogs vomit or having to clean it up all make me retch. Sheep don't vomit. Yay for Herc!

@JolietJake They don't vomit full stop. Neither do horses or cows.

Louie (R.I.P.) had a delicate stomach and I had to do quite a bit of cleaning up, 2-3 times a week. Scar has only done it twice, thankfully...of course, once this morning, which was the impetus for this.

Before we were married my husband had a couple of cats, and one vomited all the time, so nasty.

@JolietJake My hubby had a momma cat and her kid, and the kid always tried to eat momma's food, and then would vomit it up. I used to stand over momma's dish until she was done eathing.

I've been lucky that nothing seems to bother Scar much, but then again he won't touch anything except his food for the most part

I was a dog guy until I moved in with my girlfriend. Now iI'm a cat guy, although sometimes they make me seriously wonder why.

Here i am reading this after waking up to a huge hairball to clean up this morning. I am just glad I didn't step on it..I have done that before. Not a fun way to start the morning.

I'm just glad Scar left the 'deposit' off to the side of where I usually walk through the house.

Scar put you up to this, making a case for cats over dogs for human? Cats are indeed ruling this world!

Preiti throws up sometimes after eating some grass which is their way of cleaning their system. That we have to clean up. She shows signs that she wants to throw up standing near the entrance door. She normally does it in the garden and it is easy to get rid of it.

Scar gnaws on grass occasionally but it doesn't seem to make him do anything...I think he's just weird.

I agree. It is so troublesome to clean the vomit of a dog. They are not like cows that vomit their bolus and eat it again.

@JolietJake I think that would be easy to handle if he will be trained.

If I could teach him to jump in the bathtub when he feels ill I could just wash it down the drain

There is an advantage to having a cat and a dog, no vomit to clean up. And the dog will chase toys, while the cat will just look at you like, "why you threw that?"

Flo from next door - the very expensive colour point British Shorthair - has been seen eating human vomit after a teen party at the village hall. She's a posh girl with gutter habits.
