Writing: Two Schools of Thought

I have a personal blog page. I don't keep a strict schedule for posting new stories, but I'd been trying to share a new one every 3-4 weeks for a long time. I finally posted a new one tonight, after almost 8 weeks. I am really pleased with it! But I feel that 8 weeks is just too long. My readers could forget about my blog or at least lose interest. My life has been in transition and I've just been distracted by so many other things lately. A new part-time job is one of those things. The story I posted before this one was...eh, not my best work. It wasn't horrible, but I knew that I posted it mostly under the pressure of getting at least something on my blog! There are two schools of thought about writing. One says (basically) that if someone truly wants be a writer, he or she should just write! Meet deadlines, no matter what! Sometimes, people do their best work under a bit of pressure. The other one says that writing is a form of art, and the writer should wait until he or she is absolutely inspired! Otherwise, it won't be from the heart and readers will be able to sense that. I'm still trying to decide which way to go. I see pros and cons in both ways of thinking.

I usually write when I feel like because then I find myself deeply indulge or lost into the imagination of it and keep writing whatever I imagine and don't care about time. It gives me productive work of mine with every single detail that if anyone can read that, he can imagine that world and will find himself or herself there in the world which you have created by writing. On the other hand if someone gives deadline, I'm a bit pressured and most of my time gets focused on to thinking about the deadline which destroy my imagination and work too which I think is not very productive but you've done it anyway. You do not enjoy it and get frustrated easily which results that no idea hits on your mind of what to write.

@BloggerDi Yea, because night is the time when you are most productive because during nights brain starts exploding new thoughts and imagination and you write what you feel. Since you feel very happy at that time while writing because you enjoy it that is why you want do it even if you're tired or exhausted. :)

Hello @_ge_ez_ . Thank you for sharing. Yes, my experience with writing has been very similar to yours. Sometimes, my most creative time is very late at night, when I am least likely to be interrupted. At those times, if I'm in that "zone" I will keep working for a long time, even though I'm exhausted.

Perhaps you can do a hybrid or combination of these 2 school of thoughts of writing?

Yes, I think so @magnumopus. I just saw a great quote yesterday, that said something like "Go ahead and start writing, inspiration often comes when you're working." That has happened to me a few times and it's a great feeling!

Think and do what your heart suggests.

Thank you @shivamani10. Maybe the best choice depends on personality. From the heart and inspired is probably better for me. But better time management will help, I'm sure.

I've heard that most writers that wait to be inspired never end up writing anything, and that most of the greatest writers in history would get up and make themselves write x # of words even if they couldn't think of anything to write.

I've read that too @supercalifredge. It would likely be good for me to do that, even if I don't post any of those daily writings publicly.Thank you!

A middle of the road...Some quick blogs to fill the gap and the inspired ones when you get down to it?
