They be like most of us and swallowing a bitter pill of choosing the lesser of two evils. Then, again, maybe that is just an American and British Thing. One thing is for sure, they did not let hate rule them.
Here is what one of the best Leaders in the US said "Congratulations to the people of France who today, by an overwhelming vote, rejected racism and xenophobia." -Bernie Sanders
France said, we are not becoming another country that is ruled by an evil person.

Le pen was too far right.
That being said macron is no fan of brexit and is pro EU so I think it is a bad day for us in the UK.
My opinion is that macron is bad for the UK...from what I have read.

I get your point, many countries seem not to be a happy with your choice. I get both points of view, but always something to standing together and not going off to an island by yourself. This coming from me who loves to create his own Islands.
I only do that because many still do not get it. I am fine with your guys choice to leave, but only if it was really to make you a better people. I know you to a degree and think you are a good person, but not sure many had good intentions with the decision to leave. Sounds like many wanted a money grab from an outsiders perspective.

@crossbones27 The whole eu isn't happy with our choice...as we are a big source of cash.
To you in the US...would you like 20+ countries having an influence over your elected people???
It's a NO from me...I want people elected from MY country to represent me...not some sh!tty corrupt, bloated organisation that I NEVER voted to be a member of.

@Mike197602 That is why I can respect that decision, but also see, not everyone thinks like you. They think in shady ways and what is really destroying this world. My country has been on the decline because they keep blaming the wrong people. My point is I hope you guys did not do the same. Time will tell one way or another. I do hope the best for you and your country though. We should all be in this together.

Fortunately the French are wiser to choose the lesser of the two evils.
Macron is young, and he is still learning.
I think when he can bring France to a new level after Brexit, he can get re-elected again, and stay on to stabilize the country.
The next country to have a presidential election is South Korea.
Hope they can get someone who is wise enough to patch up with China, and to have good relationship with North Korea.
There was a time when the relationship between North and South Korea was very good.
That was back in 2000 when the presidents of both countries met, and they allowed their people to meet with their relatives across the border.
Too bad North Korea had to spoil the good relationship with nuclear testing.

Yeah, people do not realize how quickly things can fall apart when you put in bad leaders.

@crossbones27 Populism is undermining all our democracies, and Macron is also somewhere a populist, but he is less bad than Trump and Le Pen, and was not supported by Russia and alt right activists. I think he can be a good president, but if he fails we are at risk to have Le Pen elected next time, and it would be a disaster.

@topffer Yeah, I hear you. I honestly do not know much about him. I do know that is the problem with the lesser of two evils. It usually goes worse the next time around if it does not work out with the lesser evil. Why I wanted Bernie Sanders elected so bad. He is a bit of a populist himself, but do not think it would be anything to worry about. He uses common sense and does not do anything out of hate. He just wants the best for his people. Hopefully Macron will be similar in that regard.

It sure sounds like it was the only rational choice from what I have been hearing. Le Pen is like the female version of Trump, but probably smarter, which is probably not that hard.
I do hope Macron evolves well in his role as your guys President. Hopefully you guys will teach us a thing or two, but highly unlikely because our country does not seem to want to learn, just pretend our way is the only way.

@teamfreak16 Well, it is more than us, but many countries are that way normally with some new ones going with the dictator approach like Turkey who was free, but not anymore. People just do not understand how quickly things can get out of hand when they put the wrong people in power.

I am so glad it went this way too. The world needs no more right wing leaders in power.

Not extreme ones anyway. I do not mind the moderate types like John Kasich, even though a lot of policies I do not agree with. I do think he tries to help the poor and middle class, he is not a jerk like most modern Republican politicians.
