I have been watching this show on cable called "Escaping Polygamy". About three young women who have left the order which is called the Kingston Group, A cult of polygamists who live near Salt Lake City, Utah. It is scary to think about. A bunch of men who can have as many wives as they please. Some of the wives are sisters. They have dozens of kids that the men do not allow these women to even put their names on the birth certificates. The women work to support their kids. The men come and visit them every so many days. They don't help the women financially with the kids and the kids aren't even allowed to call the men "dad" unless it is the first family of this man. The women live in squalor with their kids. The men do nothing. One woman was thrown out of the group because she called CPS to see how they lived. These three young women were the daughters of the head guy and they left the order and now help others to leave. I have seen stories about this but didn't know how horrible it was for families and for mothers.
