*Can you write on a plastic - covered card?

This morning I went to the hospital to have my PNA card renewed. The nurse in charge of the cards asked me if I should have the lifetime card so I can enjoy the privileges of being a member of the Philippine nurses association, to which I replied I will be retiring in few more years.
So she gave me my new card. As always I find it difficult to write on the card because it is plastic - laminated. As you can see how I wrote my name,it is not at all presentable because I have to trace back the letters if they are lightly printed.
Do you have cards like this? What ink do you use to print or sign your name?

well, if the pens are expensive, then, they are doing the job of permanent ink.

i did some erasures and it did not leave a mark, because the card was laminated.

Use a sharpie in fine point. I am into crafting, journaling, and scrapbooking. I have all sorts of pens and craft materials from different countries especially Japan. What works best in glossy papers or plastics are the sharpie pens. Hope you can find one in a bookstore near you. NBS are selling that, not sure if they have the fine point one though.

@ridingbet If you can't find one, just use a correction fluid on the part where you need to sign. Let it dry and then use any pens to sign.

@toniganzon hmmm, that is a brilliant idea. i will do that if the pen i used to print my name on, can be erased with a finger wiping it off. thanks much.

@ridingbet It is nice that you have the PNA. We don't have like this in the Philippines. What a pity.

my PRC license, i was able to write my name with the Papermate ballpen. i did not expect my PNA card cannot maintain my name in ink.

@ridingbet Yes, the one I have is a permanent ink, it's made for the purpose to sign the plastic card so that the writing cannot be deleted.

@LadyDuck i have not yet checked if my name and signature in the card is not removed, since i placed the card inside my wallet.

is it a permanent ink pen? my sister has a pen; i thought the mark cannot be removed already so i used it, but when i wiped the print, it was erased.
the mark in my card is from my Papermate ballpen.

@ridingbet No it is not laminated. Yes the marker was designed to write on this type of card only and I did it without any difficulty

wow, so it was easy for you to write your name and signature in to your card? is your card plastic-laminated too?

My solution is that make a name in the computer, print it out with a green back ground and then pasted it on the upper label name.

but when i paste it, it might and can be torn off and my card can be stolen as well.

that is nice. we have some identification cards too that are not plastic-laminated and we can write on them. this card however, is covered with plastic, that is why it is hard for me to print my name.
there is news yesterday that we might be having a national ID. hope this will push through

yes. that print of my name is from my Papermate ball pen and when i used another pen for my signature using another pen, this pen was temporary.
