I live in a lovely city. It is Boise, capitol of Idaho. It sets in the southwestern part of the state near the Oregon border. There is a river that runs through it and many trees and parks. I live in the north end with is usually a few degrees cooler in the summer because of a lower standing and because it has less asphalt and more trees. The states bird is the blue bird. It's flower is the syringa and its horse is the appaloosa.
The picture I chose is looking down from the train depot. Picture from Pixabay
I used to go for walks in the evenings with my ex. He and I would walk through the north end. Lots of lovely smaller homes with nice flower beds and shrubs all throughout. Nice to see and experience. Boise city has many parks and all of them are kept up nicely. They are lovely this time of year. One particular is Julia Davis and there is a zoo and a rose garden, Art and museum. I used to ride there on my bike and pick a few buds of roses and take them home with me. And we also have the train depot. No trains anymore but a lovely pond with lily pods and some nice Syringa growing around.
Below is a article I wrote about the appaloosa becoming the state horse of Idaho:
Idaho named the Appaloosa the state horse in 1975. They are identified by their colorful spotted patterns of their coats, mottled skin, striped hooves, and white outer coating around the eye. It is one of the most recognizable breeds. They were bred ...

They are foothills. Nice place to walk. We had a bad fire up there a few years ago. Things are getting back to normal now.

You sure live in a lovely city. One thing I miss about not living in the states is Idaho potatoes. Can you send me two bagfuls???

I love potatoes! I don't think there is a kind of way they are fixed that I don't like. We also have a Idaho Spud candy bar that is very tasty. You can't find them at the website Idaho Candy company. Good stuff.

I have visited Boise. Went to the capitol building, state museum and the old prison.

The old prison is supposed to be haunted. It backs up against the foothills.

It's a great place. We have the green belt along the rive and it is very enjoyable for bike riding.
