Shoot me - I dare you!

When you get a headache like I have you just want to roll over and be done. Seriously, I keep telling my husband to shoot me, I guess I should be thankful he doesn't take me up on it. This is a very strange headache - it almost goes away but not quite. And it moves from the back of my head to the front. I can almost deal with it in the front but when it is in the back by my neck is when I want out of my misery. I would love to be outside by the pool but the sun on my head isn't a good idea. I am more comfortable in here in the A/C. I have a doc appointment Thursday for my six month check up ... I will tell him about this head! Until then I will try to deal with it the best I can.

It comes and goes, but it never really leaves completely. Getting very annoying.

I get cluster headaches (the cousin of the migraine), and it will feel as if someone is driving a dull nail into my eyebrow. People who've never had a debilitating headache really dont' understand...and I'd rather have them ignorant than to have to endure one of these headaches and realize just how real it is. Hope you're better soon.

At this point then, you have no idea why you get headaches? Someone we know uses an icepack on the back of her neck and the headache stops quickly. Hope you find out the cause soon.

@AbbyGreenhill Research shows that is can be due to digestive issues, which you mentioned somewhere you have

I don't get headaches - this is very odd..had the same kind of headache 12 years ago. Someone told me heat on the back of my neck and it sure helped. I had a few pain free hours yesterday.

I got migraine years ago, when I worked. I still get flashing lights but no headaches - just tired after.

No - I wish it was. I have not had a sinus headache/infection since we left New Jersey 17 years ago

Sorry about your headache. I get migraines and I have had those headaches like you say, they go away but not quite and it is so frustrating.

I had migraines for years, but never had a bad headache with them - just flashing lights and sensitivity to light and noise.

I know how painful it is and I understand how bad my husband has been during the time he had the headache every day for more than 6 months. Then, one day, as it came it disappeared.

No it isn't gone - but I have to concentrate here which takes my mind off of it for a few minutes.

Because of my spinal injuries @AbbyGreenhill , I get a lot of migraines at the base of my skull. The fastest solution is to get a washcloth wet and put it in the microwave for a few seconds (til it's pretty hot). Place the washcloth at the base of the skull with your chin dropped towards your chest and press down on the washcloth. Repeat until you feel relief. I think the reason why this works is that it opens the blood vessels and allows better blood flow. Usually headaches are caused by restricted blood flow.

That makes sense, I will give it a try - why not! thanks.

@nanette64 It is 100 percent effective, but I do get some hours of relief from doing it. I did it three times yesterday and didn't get a headache again until sometime in the night.

AT least the headache like your head enough to move and explore places. Have you tried putting an icepack or a wet cold cloth at the back of your neck?
