Sometimes appliances do mend their evil ways!

We are getting ready to go away for a few days. For me that always means extra laundry before and after the trip. The last thing I need is for a laundry room appliance to go bad!
I keep a towel on a chair in the living room...it's Ruby's chair and it helps catch some of her hair. I have to wash it frequently. A few days ago I washed her towel and when it came out of the washer it was soaking wet. I knew that the machine had spun, since I witnesses the tail end of that cycle. I put the towel back and ran it for a few minutes on 'spin only' and that didn't help. .
I have no experience with appliance repair people so I googled ones in our area and made a short list. Knowing the holiday weekend was approaching our only game plan was to wait until we get back from our trip.
However, I really needed to wash clothes, sheets, etc. I had no choice, yesterday I washed a throw that I use - it's light weight and I knew that if it came out soaking wet I really had a problem. My husband and I held our breath as the cycle finished and the throw was almost dry right out of the washer.
To further test the machine yesterday evening I did a normal size loud of wash and no soaking wet clothes. This morning I washed my sheets and the machine functioned perfectly.
Though it's hard to believe, this Samsung washer seemed to have cured itself! I have an idea that the computer in that machine was taking an early holiday vacation and now it is back working again!
Whatever the cause I'm glad for now it is working and making my life a little easier - the thoughts of going to a laundromat is not my idea of fun!
Enjoy your holiday!

@AbbyGreenhill My washer does not like our oversized guests towel, I cannot understand the reason, but I do not dare to use it again.

@LadyDuck So far I only got that horrible unblanced noise a few times...my old 'regular' washer it happened all the time.

But two days before that I washed our regular bathroom towels, which are very oversized - plus other towels and no problem. Maybe it just doesn't like Ruby's towel. I give up trying to figure it out - as long as I can get done now I'll worry later if/when it happens again. If it was nice out I would be outside - but its cloudy, very muggy and rain here and there. Not a wonderful day for sure.

The only people I ever met in a laundromat were people I would normally hide from LOL!

You are lucky! Sometimes appliances have a mind of it's own . . . so why not be able to mend on its own - if only it'd do that all the time! The washer should give a tip or two to our cars
. Well good you don't have to go to the laundromat now - that would be a pain.

Yes, a pain and I hate sitting there for an hour or longer. I wasn't concerned about getting it fixed, just bad timing!

When I lived in a condo we had a big laundry room for everyone. What a pain dragging stuff up and down steps across the parking lot - rain or shine. It was probably worse than an actual commercial laundromat since it didn't have enough equipment for the many that used it.

Maybe it overheard you say you might need to replace it and it decided to straighten up! My hair often does that if it hears me say I'm getting it cut.

Hair I think has more thought power than an appliance LOL!

Maybe it was just having a 'washer moment'. We all have them.

Another reason why I prefer my appliances as simple as possible, I hate these computerized ones. Give me a simple dial to turn any day!! But I am glad yours cured itself.

I wanted one that uses very little water so I guess I have to put up with some issues. This one is 8 years old and I would guess the life expectancy is just a few more years.
