Not the text message I wanted to read.

I leave my phone in the kitchen when I am utelizing the hotspot feature because on good days I get 3G and sometimes 4G coverage in there, and that makes my online stuff a lot easier and less headache induicing. Well I went in there to check on my phone, to see if I needed to plug it in or charge it or anything, and noticed that I had a text message from my mom. Now me and my mother don't talk very often, so I knew either something was wrong or she wanted something. Unfortunately something was wrong. My step dad's father - so my step grandpa is in the hospital with sepsis, and I guess mixed with the cancer that he has been battling for several years, the doctor has told them to expect the worse. The text message from my mother said that grandpa Pete was dying and that my step dad was flying out there to be with him. I rushed outside to call my step dad. He didn't answer. So I sent a text message to both of them telling them to tell Grandpa Pete that I loved him. Because I do. I may not be close to my mother or my step father but I have really really good memories of my step grandpa from when I was younger. Some that I might share later. So please keep my step dad in your thoughts and prayers during this time, I don't know how long grandpa has left, and I wish I could of seen him one more time before he died, but that wasn;t in the cards. I hope he knows I love him.

I'm sorry that this is happening. I hate when families are all spread out. Mine is all together here within 10 minutes of each other. We are always together for emergencies.

I haven't seen him in nine years, but still I have great memories of him when I was a kid. The closest relative that I have is a second or third cousin who is two hours away.

I am sure that he knows you love him. I hope they sent the message as well, though. It is good to hang on to those good childhood memories.

Is there any way you can talk to him? Often one of the nurses will hold a phone for the person so they can talk to their family members.

It is really uncontrollable to bear with such messages. A man is dying ....what a message...we have to see him and pay our thanks and love...Ah...really twisting and squeezing my heart.
