Heatstroke claims another life.

A distant neighbor expired yesterday due to heatstroke. The temperature here in my place is so sweltering hot, that I was sweating profusely yesterday. The news about the demise of the neighbor was told to my sister when she went to the store this morning. The body of the deceased is in a funeral parlor along the highway.
Even while I am inside our house, I really feel tired and breathe with difficulty. That is why I am drinking more fluids and eat bananas at intervals. I am also trying to relax my body and mind, and not confront my sister whenever she gets sarcastic and annoying.
I have to maintain my heart at its normal rate and rhythm. Tomorrow is my follow-up consultation and my son will accompany me. I hope the PTPA result will be in its normal range again.
Is it summer now in your place?

@ridingbet _This is sad. Was there no one to look after him. Does he live alone?

@Shavkat my son went out yesterday afternoon; he was fetched by 2 of his friends. they had a drinking spree of san mig light, and he was not yet home at 10PM. i texted him, but not in a worried manner, so when he replied "10 minutes more, ma", i felt relieved. i waited for him while watching TV.
danger comes anywhere in any time of the day.

@LadyDuck that is so nice. our cold season was just barely 2 months. how i wish the summer and cold seasons here is divided equally the whole year 'round.

@ridingbet Interesting! Japanese always associate bananas to Philippines.

bananas have high potassium content, an electrolyte that can be reduced when we sweat.

@ridingbet I never like a too cold air conditioned room. It's like that in some Florida restaurants, so I always bring a wrap or a little sweater.

@DianneN a shawl? that is good. yesterday, to my dismay, the laboratory where i had the examination for PTPA, the AC was not on. it was a rotating fan that cooled the people there.

i would love to have even just a quarter of the cold temperature there, but we live in opposite side of the world.
the hospital is air-conditioned, but what i don't like is, its thermostat is turned at 30 degrees, making the room so cold. i cannot tolerate that- hot outside, cold inside. i will wear a thicker tee shirt this afternoon for my follow-up consultation.

It is horrible summer here in Delhi. Temperature going up to 45 degree C here. We are finding it difficult to cope up with dust-storms and uncomfortable weather.

no, and we do not have AC at home. i am fine with the rotating fan. i get cold when the AC's thermostat is steady at 30 or 35.

It is summer and hot here. I'm very grateful we have AC in our home or we would be really miserable.
I'm sorry to hear about your neighbor. =(

Thats very sad to hear about your neigbour. I can understand the heat you have there in the phil as i was staying in subic bay for 2 years. Heat becomes inbarable sometimes. You should have pleanty of coconut nectar(buko) and keep your self hydrated with water and lemonade. Have sufficient salt containing substance and also sugar. Avoid consumption of too much meat.. stick to salads and easyly digestable food products. Ingat Po! :)
