So my son was taking Melatonin for the longest time since he has a hard time sleeping and going to bed so the doctor recommended it. He has been using it for years and a few weeks ago he ran out and our roommate was suppose to pay for a new bottle for him and that failed. So I decided to take my son off Melatonin for good since it is summer vacation for school. So I am going to get him on a set sleeping schedule, well try to at least, and even when we move too. So hopefully all this works out for him.

It should work. May take a few nights or a couple weeks but should.

Try lavender instead, more natural and accessible.

Have tried something similar and did not like it so stopped taking it.
Like Heather says it gives me bad dreams which is what I hardly want at all.

It will be good if your son will be able to sleep naturally. I hope this works out Nikki.

I only take it occasionally. It gives me weird vivid dreams. Some people say that if you take it all the time your body quits making its own. Summer vacation is an excellent time to build healthy sleep routines. Get him up in the morning, and let him get some natural sun first thing. Make sure he gets off electronics a couple of hours before bed time and do not have anything with light in his room. You will be amazed at the improvement as you do the things you have planned. Let us know how it goes.
