When my daughter came to visit she had brought some Mtn Dew Code Red soda. She knew I 'use' to drink Big Red, so thought I would like this. It was good but when I went to read the ingredients, the very last line stated, "Partially produced with genetic engineering." Say what???????
So I called Pepsi to ask WTH that means. The guy said, "Some of the ingredients contain corn which is derived from Genetically Modified Seeds. Not to mention it contained 54mg of caffeine, 46g of sugar and 105mg of salt.
No wonder people AND KIDS are bouncing off the walls and the GMO part of it? If they can't kill you with the food, they'll kill you with the soda. And there are some women who put soda in a baby's bottle? Seriously???!!!!
I took the rest of the cans and dumped them out on the ground.

@nanette64 Kids should not drink something that contains so much coffee, not to mention salt and sugar.

@LadyDuck And they wonder why kids' teeth are rotting out and they're acting like they all have ADD, ADHD.

I never was into Mt. Dew so don't know what 'red' is. If I worried about every ingredient in every product I wouldn't have time to eat.

Not my kind of drink either! When I was young, we drank only sodas. I had to get terribly sick to become aware of making healthy choices as to what to put in my body. Now, if I have one soda a year, it's too much

I'd heard that Mountain Dew really wires people up.

I think that's why some school systems banned soda machines; but still, if the parents are giving it to the kids or they stop by the local McDonalds (and others) and buy it, they're still at risk.

The GMOs are not surprising. I mean come on it is red soda. I am sure all sodas have them or at least a small amount in them. I am sure it is like the trans fat and if the amount in it is less that like .01% or some number like that they can put it in the food/drinks and don't have to label it all. A lot of the foods we eat that say 0% trans fat actually still has it in it. No kind of soda is good for us though so it is best to avoid them all and stick with water and other healthier drink/food options.
