You cannot make me do it

You cannot make me follow a recipe, not exactly. I use them more as guidelines.
I found a recipe to make pull apart buffalo chicken bread.
Well, I made the filling. Put in extra chicken, and about one ounce less hot sauce. Then instead of using biscuit dough and baking it an hour, I warmed it in the microwave and stuffed tortillas with it. Yum.
I still have at least half the recipe left. I will serve it over potatoes tomorrow.
The ingredients were; shredded chicken, blue cheese, cheddar cheese, butter, hot sauce, and supposed to be chives, but I used onions cause I had them. Oh yeah, "buffalo style" hot sauce. I used one made with cayenne pepper.
It was a tasty and quick meal. I did not add any salt but it tasted very salty. I will leave out the butter next time. Maybe use cream cheese and turn it into a dip.

I always add and subtract and delete stuff from recipes. I think this is the way of good cooks. They are inventive.

I am almost always pleased with my inventions. The second night I served the cheesy chicken over steamed broccoli and cauliflower. Yum again.

Yeah, I tend to get creative with recipes. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.

For the most part, I imagine it works. I think it is important to make food with the flavors our families love.

Leave the Hot sauce off and it does sound good. The dip idea does sound Good as well.

It was not really spicy but I understand some people do need the hot sauce left out. Hubby stocked up on hot sauce a year and a half ago. I have to find ways to use it up.

Most of the elements of buffalo wings, but no bones.

@TiarasOceanView I do not understand the fascination for wings with the tiny bones, etc. I do enjoy food with good flavor.

@Courtlynn It sounds like a real family thing. I know I fix a few things my grandmother did.

@GardenGerty kinda. We're pretty plain jane. But her cooking is based off my grandmothers. So good for me to know.

I believe this recipe was in a Good Housekeeping magazine early this year. I am going to use the method they describe and make a sweet biscuit dish. Basically you use Grands flaky biscuits or the store brand, split each biscuit in half. Turn a loaf pan on end and put a biscuit layer, then a filling, until you use up the whole can. I think it would be awesome with cinnamon and sugar.

I mean the biscuits with cinnamon sugar, not the chicken. LOL

This was a pepper based hot sauce. People who need milder foods would use something else and still enjoy it a lot.

We feel the same way when it comes to recipes. They are just a prompt for most!

Exactly. Baking even gets some tweaks from me on occasion. Usually in the form of an extra egg or some flax seed meal or nuts.
