Social Media PDA

Public display of affection is a tricky one. For me, mild PDAs like holding hands and a peck on the cheek/lips is okay and tasteful. Beyond that is something I would call tacky. Maybe I am just getting old but I notice that social media is getting heavy on the PDA for everyone to see. A picture of a newly-wed couple kissing during the ceremony is okay for me. But a picture of a couple laying down doing the same just screams tasteless for me. And don't get me started on the "after sex" pictures which seemed to have started gaining popularity. For me, if a couple is in love there are many ways to show it other than posting every single thing about it on social media. For me, it screams for attention and validation of their love. Like no, relationships do not need validation from anyone. If it does, maybe it's not meant to be in the first place. What are your thoughts on this?

I am with you. The social media isn't an avenue for those kind of pictures. They seem to much of a show of affection to me and seem vulgar already .

Ya it's on trend, and mostly for teen. But I have all this PDA. I mean if you really love someone then you don't need to show to someone.

I agree. No need for validation.

I agree! Relationships do not need validation from anyone. Those couples who always post their PDA photos on FB are screaming for attention. For me, many people on FB and in other social media sites are "feelers". As if their friends are really into their relationship
