Searching at Wikipedia / myLot

Since I have tried to learn something online, I check at Wikipedia many times. Last year they asked me for a donation of a small amount of money and I did it. This year they asked me again to donate and I was in a hurry to find something (still reading about earthworms) so I did not mind them So every time I got into the Wikipedia, they asked me again. Not answering was more annoying than donating, so I gave them $2 through paypal. I hope I´ll have peace for a year now. And, to tell you the truth, I think that all of us who use the Wikipedia should donate a bit. What do you think?

They haven't asked me for a donation, but maybe because I seldom use it.

That's a good action, but I don't use wikipedia very much, I think there are thousands of places who can provide good information. At my university, my professors dislike wikipedia because it's not very viable.

I like Wikipedia but I never donate. I think it's a worthy cause, but like many worthy causes, it's been my experience that the donor's name gets put on a list and in spite of any claims otherwise, eventually the person's name ends up being sold. As a result, all sorts of spam, solicitations for money and other business flood in. And it lasts for a very, very long time. I've learned my lesson and limit my donations to one worthy cause only. I still get the solicitations and spam, just not as many/much.
