Today my daughter asked for a day off at her work t go with me to the doctor. I was going to a very good gastroenterologist and I have been having intestinal problems for several months.
I had gone to other doctors and they all asked for other tests to be done. The last time, after I had a colonoscopy and I was send again to another doctor, I had enough.
I had to wait a couple of months before this doctor saw me. But if was worth it. I had even dreaded a colon cancer which, in my country, is one of the first reason for death.
The doctor checked all the tests I had taken, asked me what meds I took and examined me. He wasn´t worried about my exams, but did say that I had a side effect from a drug I did not need.
I have to manage my resistance to insuline by eating less carbs and do some exercise. And I don´t need any glucophage. wich was causing part of my problems.
Do you dread sometimes an appointment with the doctor?

I was afraid to go, but my life was limited by my problems.

You mean the tummy specialist?
It sounds much better if you say it like that the other sounds pretty much forbidding all those long words.
I always picture a tummy with a big smile on it.
Me I have the white coat syndrome a complaint you can´t do that much to cure.

I am waiting for a day when there would be no bad side effects with medicines.

It seemed that this side effect was because I did not need the pill.

I have come to dislike and distrust doctors in general, especially those who refuse to "listen" to patients.

I agree. I will not follow the advise of a doctor who treats me as if I had no idea about my own body.

@marguicha Anyway it is lucky that you have a better doctor to consult now.

So happy for you that you learned it was from a medication you no longer need @marguicha
So many illnesses can be taken care of with menu changes and it looks like you are taking care of yourself with the needed changes.

I think that this doctor is so good because he checks first the normal changes instead of giving another load of pills.

@PatZAnthony Only very good doctors do it. Here and there. Now doctors seem to think that the more tests and pills the give to patients, the better they are.

@marguicha And that is what doctors should be doing, but so many don't seem to here.

I dread all of them! That is what I take for diabetes but I do not any problems with it.

It seems that I had this side effect from the pills because I did not need to take them.
