My silly obsessions

I don't obsess much, but I do have a few obsessions - but please don't laugh at them. My number one obsession is with dish towels. I can't get enough of them. The photo is a kitchen drawer which is 12 inches deep so it holds a lot of dish towels. A few are in the wash and I have a few dozen more in the linen closet. I have many different colors and also many that are holiday inspired. I don't know why I love dish towels so much but I just can't seem to get enough of them. My other obsession is - are you ready - toilet paper! I buy Scot TP online in packs of 27 rolls. I usually buy two packs at a time. The last time I ordered that many I also had an unopened pack of 27 in the linen closet. We do have 3 full baths, and 2 half baths, so that's 5 toilets that need to be stocked. If the end of the world comes I will be prepared with TP and dish towels...what a way to go! Photo is mine.

It is funny that when we go to a rental we always take a few extra rolls with us 'just in case'.

@AbbyGreenhill I think travel much but when we do, I bring my own towels and blankets too. Toilet paper not so much, but Air b&b I can see why they may not supply some or not enough.

@infatuatedbby When we first started using VRBO rentals some had no supplies so we would have to run to the store so I got into habit of bringing my own.

I share one of your 'obsessions. It is the TP one. I used to have to have the entire shelf where the TP goes in the hall closet completely full. That made me totally happy. I have gotten to where half full is okay. I have to have several ready in the bathroom too. LOL

It is funny that I have so many yet I use a dishwasher! But there are dishes I won't put in a dishwasher. I remember my mother called them 'tea towels'.

Not bad obsessions at all! I have calmed myself down over the years so I can`t think of a real obsession I have at the moment. In my stockpile I have 147 rolls of quilted Northern, angel soft and cottelle toilet paper, plus 2 bathrooms stocked with several rolls. But I never pay much for any of it, I use coupons and buy what is on sale. I use a dish towel a day, sometimes a couple or more if I am canning. I cannot stand for one to be in the kitchen more than a day.

I only buy Scott - have not purchased any other brand in probably 30 years or longer. When your butt is used to one brand ....

I see nothing wrong with either of these. I do not get quite that much TP, but I only have two baths to stock. I get 36 rolls of Member's Mark at Sam;s Club at a time. I love all the different kinds of dishtowels myself.

For me,lipstick. I always check out make up section in the dept store whenever I run errands hehe. Now, I am obsessed with liquid matte lipsticks. When I was younger I was obssessed with hankerchiefs because I have hyperhidrosis. Well, I still have hyperhidrosis but I do not buy hankies often anymore. I think it is just a waste of money because they often get lost , so I just keep enough hankies and I don't buy signature brands anymore.

You can never have too much TP especially during hurricane season. I stock up in the spring and don't let the supply dwindle until Christmas.

@AbbyGreenhill I find that those huge towels take way too much space in the washer and dryer.

I made the mistake of buy the bath sheets - they are huge and now my husband won't use a normal size towel - they are too big for me, but I suffer through!
