Working on a sermon!

I can't believe I'm doing this. I'm terrified of speaking in front of people. Although I teach the adult Sunday School class and I absolutely love singing specials in church, this is way different for me.
It started with just a few thoughts I put down on paper. My husband said I should make them into a sermon. He's supposed to preach three Sundays in July while our pastor is away and I've been working on making the thoughts into a message.
My husband who is still in a lot of pain from his back, is supposed to start the series of spinal injections soon. He's not sure he'll be able to preach at all. I told him I'll try one sermon, but he'd best be looking for someone else for the other two!
I've told God that if it He doesn't think this is a good idea, please let me know before I get behind the pulpit!
I'll let you know how it goes. I do know that without the leading of the Holy Spirit, it won't bless anyone at all.

I'm sure you'll be wonderful and will preach without any jitters. I wouldn't be surprised if you wound up doing all three

Well I wish you the best of luck & i hope it goes well. I could never do that as I have a hard time speaking in front of a large crowd also. Can't wait to hear all about it when its done.

I am praying that you get inspiration from the holy spirit and write a sermon to inspire the congregation.

I will pray for you-the only one you have to please is God, and that is by staying faithful to His word-if you do that, and only if you do that, will anyone be blessed at all...and even if you don't feel anyone is blessed, if you are faithful to His word, they will be.

Thank you for those wise words. I guess we don't always see the fruit of our labor, but like you said, the important thing is to be faithful to God's Word.

Congratulations! You will do fine! Was it Moses I was reading about - who was shy about speaking publically? To me speaking is easier than singing, singing scares me .... you can do it!

I hope so. I've never liked speaking in front of crowds, but singing is my joy.
