Computer update

Last night, the Mac OS Sierrra software installation failed, like I thought it would be. I've contacted Apple Care via email and called my Senior Case advisor via voicemail and also email. I've heard back from him last night via email. He said taking it to Apple would be the best place for diagnosis. I've also heard back from my brother, when I've let him know that the MacOS Sierra installation failed. On Monday morning, he would take me to Apple as soon as I hear back from my senior case advisor to schedule an appointment. If not today. I'll schedule one for Monday morning and pass on going to the gym. So I'm going to save the rest of my work this weekend and see if I do repair and replace it. I might have to move some Paypal money today into my savings to be there on Monday. If we can't do it on Monday, it would have to be next weekend for sure.
When I make an appointment for Apple, I'll let you know what they say if it can repaired, or if I got a new computer. So I might be offline for awhile if it's the latter. I'll keep you posted.

I hope that doesn't effect your writing too badly.

Not too bad, except when Scrivener and Open Office doesn't respond a lot. But it would be backed up. I might go next Friday after I get paid from Upwork next week.

@Shavkat Me too. I know it's probably a long shot for it to be repaired now. If I brought it over last year to fix it, this computer would've lasted longer and accepted OS Sierra's installation. If they can fix the already water-damaged hardware/keyboard, it would be a miracle. And then I can do OS Sierra when I come home.

I hope that you do get a new one. That would be great!

Me too. It would be a MacBook, regular, Air or Pro. If I added the 3-year protection plan, it would cost me an extra $250 at Best Buy. So I'm going to pass on it.

Having computer issues is not a fun way to spend the holiday weekend!

@Jeanniemaries I know. Normally it bounces once a day. But for the past week, even with multiple reboots, it pops up more than 3x a day. It won't go away. And when I try to go to Internet Accounts, it wouldn't load in the system preferences pane.

Oh how aggravating! If I may make a suggestion, I would buy a cheap back up. Nothing is worse than being without your PC!

They do offer services. But I'm going on Friday morning instead. Just made a reservation for the Friday slot. I need time to back-up my documents and transfer money to my savings account next week. Plus it depends on my brother's work schedule. We're going out to lunch and do errands on the same day--will be late for Upwork though.

Apple computers are quite pricey so I hope you can get it repaired.

Me too. But I think it's a real long shot, since the water had spread a year ago. The Sierra update was worth a shot in the dark.
