Little House in the Forest -
The "Hovnanian" Company is developing land carved out of the forest so that people may have civilization on which to build their homes. From what I see of their developing efforts, they are doing a great job of the planning and the work. Roads are going in - real concrete roads on which I can ride around on the little electric mobility scooter. That Texas July sunshine is plenty hot, but the heat is tolerable because I carry a great big bottle of ice-water with me on the journeying through the development.
AND...
Would you believe the abundant and very visible hospitality of those Hovnanian people.
Even though I was several miles away from home and of civilization - way out there in the wilds of things, forest and grass fields aplenty - but not much else - I came upon a rest stop by which was a welcome sign.
"Available" is what it said. I might have stopped over but for the fact that there was no driveway on which to roll the electric scooter.
I will be contacting the Hovnanian Company people soon enough, for they do deserve a big "Thank You" for their kind consideration to those of us who are otherwise scooter-bound and out of luck as to the absence of often necessary and important pit stops.
==[[ Now, just an aside here...]]==
I learned many years past about those Armenian folks whose last names end in "..ian..." Those letters refer to the name's meaning - "Son of A B C or Son of X Y Z".or whatever the daddy's name happened to be. In this instance, it was "Hovnan's son." Maybe there was also some tight connection to "Hovnan's daughter, too. I don't know about that.
So, it must be that Papa Hovnan, way over there in both time and in Armenia, taught his kids hospitality, hospitality that now shows up even over here in the forest and the fields of South Texas, USA.
