Pulling and Cutting

The guy finally showed up Tuesday night to cut my 3 pastures. He did a better job this time than the last but because his tractor is so large; with dual cutting blades, he can't get close enough to the fence line. So that means that I have to go out with the cutters and either pull all of those 6' weeds out or cut them with shears. Tuesday I spent 2 hours and managed to get 1 1/4 sections done which is only about 125ft (38.1 meters). My back was killing me and the humidity almost took me out. I didn't do any yesterday (bad girl), so today I'm headed out the door to do some more. If I spend 2 hours every day for the next month, I should get it done. Somebody get a hot tub ready for me.

You have to be kidding? don't you own a weed eater? I wouldn't be hand pulling weeds.

I do but it's electric @AbbyGreenhill . I'd have to go buy another 10-50' cords to even try to reach some of the areas.

@nanette64 pick up a cheap gas one at a yard sale instead of killing yourself pulling weeds.

@AbbyGreenhill Ya know what the real killer is? The donkeys 'refuse' to eat the stuff.

3 pastures eh? Get you!!!! I currently have a piece of grass about 5m by 3m. I suspect I could cut it with a pair of nail scissors in an hour!!

@nanette64 Whole garden (cutting grass, trimming hedges, bit of pruning) takes me less than an hour once a fortnight. There's a lot to be said for small. As the actress said to the bishop.

I seriously feel your pain. I tried mulching along my fence lines when I lived in Buffalo. That helped, but I finally had to hire a guy to come dig a margin along the fence. I'm sure your job is much more massive than mine was, though. I hope that at some point, you can have a soak in a hot bath with epsom salts.

I've got one but it's electric @NJChicaa . I've got about 150 feet of electric cord but it's not even close to what I'd need to make the distance. Besides some of the weeds are 6' tall, so a weed wacker probably wouldn't do any good.
