For me, when it comes to a Lettuce salad, this is not really my cup of tea anymore, and I prefer not to eat salads of this type. But give me something like Potato Salad or Macaroni salad and even Jello Salads, and I am Happy. But now the new thing I have started doing, and is probably really good for me as well, is take a lot of the ingredients that would work in a lettuce salad, and add it all together minus the lettuce. What a Great combination this makes. One of my favorites is Cucumbers, Olives, Tomatoes and Cheese. Add a little bit of Ranch or Italian and I am happy. This is an excellent alternative in the Summer when the weather is really Hot.

Salad seems to be one of my fav foods. My downfall in calories is the dressing though. I can't eat just plain salad like that.

Yes that can be an issue unless you learn to use Salad dressings that are better for you, or make them yourself. A good favorite is Olive Oil and Johnny's seasoning mixed together and then put on there, or Lemon Pepper.

You might try putting a little spinach in it. Lettuce itself doesn't really have much nutritional value, however, spinach is nutrition dense. You don't have to put much and dice it really small. Your ingredients and great and I'll have to try just that, but I really need extra bulk. Salads I eat won't last long unless they are BIG!

I have actually considered just trying Spinach and seeing what I think. I remember Chard from when I was growing up and liked it with salads.

I like vegetable salad and the more variety (more vegetables) the better. In the end I fry the cubes of Halloumi cheese and add them to the salad it feel like croutons. Very tasty salad.
