Legs won't let me sleep........

Perth, Australia
July 12, 2017 5:19pm CST
It is 6:20 AM and I am exhausted. I've been up all night because of my stupid legs! I already do have a problem with trying to sleep at the right times and last night I was so ready to have a good night sleep! But my legs kept me awake with it's creepy crawly tingling sensations. If anyone experiences restless leg syndrome then you know exactly what I am talking about. I kept getting up to stretch them, massage them, walk around, have a hot shower but nope! Still feeling like I need to keep moving them! It's very hard to fall asleep when my legs are wide awake. Does anyone experience this? Have any suggestions to help them cause I swear I am getting close to just amputating them. *Photo is mine.*

@TiarasOceanView I am so glad that yours is more under control! I can't find much about it to help relieve it. I mean there are suggestions but all seem to fail when I try it. it just goes when it wants to. Glad the photo was photo lol and nah I won't really chop them off.

@VivaLaDani13 Could it be a medicine?

@TiarasOceanView I don't think so no. I am on an antidepressant nowadays but I've been having this problem on and off for about 4 years. I wasn't on anything back then when it started.

A coworker of mine has this and she takes medicine for it that helps her sleep. Maybe it's something you can look into ? I hope you were able to get some sleep

@VivaLaDani13 Yeah i hear you. I take 10 pills a day for my heart condition and when I'm sick or have other issues more medicine is the least of my concern. I try not to go to the doctors if i don't have too.

@Blondie2222 I have thought about it but I don't really like medicine. I really appreciate the suggestion. It will be an idea I can try if everything else fails. Medicine is always my last resort lol

@Blondie2222 You poor thing. I'm sorry. Do you have to have the pills all at once or spread out through the day?

@hereandthere I've had it for about 4-5 years. It comes and goes. Not sure what starts it really. I have read that caffeine can apparently be a cause of it.

@VivaLaDani13 Since you are already maintaining a Food Diary, I think you should make note of the days you get this RLS too so that you can maybe relate what dietary supplements may or may not have caused it.

@VivaLaDani13 Hello, thanks, The doc gave me some pills that were "supposedly" to help me. Helas! the only thing that they did was to keep me "without sleep" for 2 nights. I thought I was going to go crazy. So, you know where I told him to put those pills.

@marlina I'm so sorry you have to deal with it. I have researched it quite a lot and apparently there is no cure.

@Daljinder lol I used the back massager on my legs. Felt nice but doesn't really feel satisfying when I stop. At least I got the blood flowing. I haven't actually. Sara has brought that up to me before but I feel scared about the little pins.

I get cramps sometimes, but I suppose that's a different thing. Sorry you suffer with it, especially as you say there's no cure.

I know those cramps too, and I am terrified of them ..especially when they come in day time...driving gets scary. I always swallow two b complex, two neurobion before driving. lol. About 10 to 15 minutes ...before driving. I don't know if they are the cure...but they seem to work.

I don't have that. I do sometimes (Which is more often than not) like to keep my feet moving while trying to sleep or sitting idle. It relaxes me.

@VivaLaDani13 Yeah it works that way too. Moving body is hard to fall sleep. And if body is not tired enough to sleep then moving feet tires it enough to sleep.

you better take a sheet on legs, I used to have feeling that some insects are runing on my body or parts of body, so started with sheet on,and it solved the problem

Im so sorry to hear that, have you tried consulting your doctor about that? Sometime tingling sensation like that are signs and symptoms of mineral deficiency. Better safe than sorry...

@Neiltarquin I have thought about it. Not the first on my list to talk to the doctor about though. I'm having other issues that are more important to be honest. But yes you are right! I think I do have iron deficiency so that could be a reason.

@Neiltarquin Well not exactly. I haven't even been on them for a year yet so that can't be the reason.
