Do you breathe deeply and smile when…

…you feel nervous? Some people forget the simple ways not to look anxious: the proper breathing exercise and wear a big smile. If you can do this, then there is no need to worry about something or someone. I must admit that I’ve been doing this during my school days. I am an introvert and afraid of being bullied. I managed to take a deep breath and smile while reporting in front of the class or performing on stage. It is a perfect way to camouflage the timid personality. In the long run, I had developed to be flexible in dealing with different types of people as an extrovert. Thus, I can be introvert and extrovert at the same time. “What do you do in times of being anxious?” “Are you easy to mingle with?” Image Credit: pixabay.com

Yes, I always do this everytime I feel nervous or anxious. Also I do this when I feel like my oxygen is lacking, all I have to do is deep breathe many times.

I can't deal with crowded places. However, if it needs for me to be there, then I just need to endure it.

I am an introvert as well. I sometimes have to give myself a talking to before going in to a stressful situation. A smile and a deep breath do wonders! When I know that I look confident on the outside, I begin to feel more confident on the inside, too.

I do agree that we really need to condition ourselves if we are in and out of the house. Self-confidence can be boost once we are in a difficult situation like being anxious.

I think that it is also a good way not to feel anxious. I used to do this when feeling so nervous before. Perhaps I was so exposed to different sets of people.

Inwardly I may feel anxious but I take care to put others at ease. Yes, I smile often and give time for others to put across their views as being anxious will make us blurt out our thoughts rather incoherently. Everyone can teach us and most want to make others feel comfortable. I take care to leave a positive impression - siva

I'm not really an anxious person, but I do get depressed and a little blue at times. Those times I have a drink.(responsible drinking of course) But depression runs really high in my mom's side of the family as I'm gaining more understanding through family stories.
