Shady Coconut Tree

Since last 2 weeks, the weather had been scorching hot that it is simply impossible to go out for a walk or to perform any gardening job. Staying indoor was better as we could on the ceiling fan at full speed alike a spinning helicopter but at 11am, the weather was unbearable. Just outside my house, there is a tall old coconut tree which was planted by my mother-in-law 10 years ago. This old coconut tree had many long leafy leaves that provide a good shade for those who needed to take a rest after a walk. I found that some neighbors, strangers would hide under the shady coconut tree from the scorching sun. Today, I took a chair, sat under the old coconut tree and felt the cool wind blowing under the shady tree which was pleasant and relaxing. DO you plant a tree in your yard or garden? photo belonged and taken by peachpurple

Yes, indeed, feeling cool even though the wind is warm instead of cold or breezy

Trees can give cool and relaxing atmosphere. In cities lack of trees make the life worse with heat.

I agree, the trees are not allocated by the side of the roads

I like your picture... I have lemon trees in my backyard but it's not too big or too shady... It's nice that your coconut tree provides a shade for people from the scorching sun...

In our garden there is a holly tree that was there before the house was built, so it is surely more than 30 years old. It's an evergreen and it casts a fresh shadow.

You have to be careful a coconut does not drop on your head!
