Pulling the plug

Tonight is the last night I'm giving my old MacBook Pro life before I officially pull the plug on it this evening. I was originally going to do this, three weeks ago, before I had email issues for two long--and frustrating--weeks. Altough I've saved all of my documents and other files, almost a week ago on my external disk drive, I had one last thing to do: copy/paste emails and bookmarked websites. And them email it to myself.
And that's what I did this afternoon. I'll be happy to save good riddance to my old laptop that lasted almost five years in early September. We've had some good times, until last year's water spill had ruined it all, before it would be vintage next year. No more safe boots and OS Utilities pages or Account Errors for my old Macmail account. No more crashing or non-responding apps either. No more faulty battery, since it was at 2% this afternoon, and not charging.
I'll be keeping my external keyboard and speakers and storing them into my closet for back-up. I've already shut it down a hour ago and would be ready to yank the battery adapter and wifi cords from my surge protector. It would be packed into my Macbook Air box with my CD-Rom for Brother printer that I don't need anymore tonight. It would die a slow death, when I'll be officialy pulling the plug on it, as it would be thrown out on my way out to church tomorrow morning via the trash shute.
May it Rest in Peace in computer Heaven with my former Ibook laptop and Apple desktop computer from a decade ago. No more water spills for me from this moment on!

It kind of feels good to shut it down Kristen.
I did that with my old laptop too but do get it out every now and again to print as this one I have is unable to print.

I've also had bad luck with computers over the years and had to get rid of most of them. Luckily, the desktop and laptop I have now are in good condition and haven't given me much trouble.
