Bad spelling or a language I don't know?

When I picked Anne up at the local airport after her recent trip to Idaho, we strolled down the way to retrieve her luggage. Much to our surprise the signs posted on the luggage carousels (both of them) were as shown in the photo here.
As a resident of Eugene, I am a little embarrassed about this sign. Are they really bad spellers or is it a joke of some kind?

Bad spelling for sure. I work for a sign company and we correct many mistakes that customers make. Some of them will even argue and want it spelled the way they have it written so we have to do what they want. It is embarrassing and makes us look bad. Most times people are glad that we catch their mistakes though.

I would think they would be glad. On this post, I hit the publish button, then had to edit because I had two "i"s in spelling.

Hopefully, they correct it.
With the massive amount of information in our hands to check and even double-check such things, people still manage to commit mistakes. It is both surprising and depressing.

@JamesHxstatic some people do not know how to use the resources that are at their disposal.

Well, spelling can be challenging to some people, but maybe the real trick is how many people realize it is misspelt?

I suspect (or hope) that almost everyone who sees it would realize it was wrong.

It seems like people just don't care about proper spelling anymore.

In a public place like that with so many visitors from all over the world, I was a a bit shocked. I think I'll call them tomorrow.

It seems so careless. I think I will have to call the airport management and ask if they have noticed.

Definitely a big faux pas on whomever printed the sign. At least it gave you a post and something for us to talk about

We see so many errors on posters and information boards. You'd think on something 'official' that they'd make the effort to get it right.
