A Day of Study and Practice

When my laptop died I knew I would have to wait till August to buy another one. So yesterday on Aug 1 (I don't let any grass grow under my feet) I went shopping at the Apple Store.
I had intended to get a MacBook Air but instead decided on a MacBook Pro. I've always had a PC before so this is similar to my phone but it moves around differently, so I intend to spend some time figuring it out.
Fortunately my sons both are Apple enthusiasts and were here past midnight showing me the ropes. I know I will get the hang of it and it will all be second nature soon but for now it's like visiting a new grocery store. You don't know where anything is.

It didn't scare me until I went to use it! Haha, but I'll be fine.

I have used Apple before when my younger son was still at home, he used to make me use his so I would get familiar with Safari. This was more than 10 years ago but I still have used Macs since then occasionally and have the iPhone. But saying that, it is quite different to move about and I'm a bit lost this morning all by myself. I have enrolled for the free hour long help classes which start tomorrow.

@Jeanniemaries I am familiar with Windows and Linux, so would be reluctant to start learning about operating system.

@Asylum I know! It isn't as easy. But since moving up north I have had to learn a lot of things.

I depend on my kids to get me over issues that pop up once in a while with my iPad and computer. Neither one right now will not let me text, Waiting for my son to find the password he used when he set it up....

@shshiju I'm loving the retina vision. It's so clear it can't be any better. Probably my favorite feature. I can't wait to watch a movie on it. Haven't had time yet.

Or any other store when they decide to rearrange things... just like computer updates.
I've always had Macs but did have a couple PCs as backups. Much prefer the Macs.

I hear that often so I'm starting over, now with my first Mac. My younger son is such an enthusiast that when he goes into the Apple Store, the clerks flock to him with their questions! He knows Mac's inside out. I'm very fortunate. My older son has had one for quite a few years too, switching over and is very happy he did.

That's good to hear! I know it becomes second nature but I can't wait for it to happen! Haha!
