Is there a piece of clothing or something else that you keep, just for the memory? There are just some things that I cannot get rid of.
I’m in the process of getting rid of a LOT of things, but I have found a few things that I have been keeping and I STILL don’t want to get rid of them.
I have the garter, that I wore on my wedding day over 50 years ago. I also have the lavender gloves I wore that day. I will keep them but I know they only mean something to me.
It has been a real adventure, going through the many boxes and containers that I have stored in this room and I have been delighted to find some of my poetry, especially. Most of the poems were hand-written, so I’ve been typing all the poems in Microsoft Word and printing them out.
I’m hoping to publish a book of poetry in the next few months. But, even if I don’t get it done, I have saved the poems in a notebook for my children and grandchildren.
What keepsake do you have that you want to keep?

I still have a dress I used for parties around 40 years ago. The material is beautiful, lamé, with all the colors of the rainbow as it was used then.

It's sounds like a beautiful dress. I'm not surprised that you wanted to keep it.

I do also from trips I've taken and milestones in my life. What good they will be to anyone else when I'm gone will be questionable. But, oh well. They mean something to me now.

I have written a lot of poetry in my life, most of which has been lost over the years. I wish that I would have kept more of my poems. But, almost all of what I wrote when I was in school I did not save. And as I moved around when my husband was in the Ari Force, we had to travel light and again nothing was saved. I still have enough for a book though. I've been more careful about saving my poems recently.
