Disturbed sleep by lawn mowing

Today is school day. I had to wake up at 5am to get ready for my son`s breakfast and lunch box for school.
After the school bus came to pick him up at 5.30am, which school starts at 7.15am by the way, I went back to sleep since both me and my son slept at 11.30pm last night as he could not finish his homework.
By 8am in the morning, I was awaken by the sound of a lawn mower that my neighbor had started. He mowed his garden for an hour, stopping at wach interval for a 5minutes break. This is very annoying because it was loud and triggered my sleep.
Now I am having a headache due to lack of sleep.
Feeling grumpy today.
How do you feel when your neighbor started his car engine abd let it runs for an hour?

@peachpurple We have rules concerning the noise here, the noisy machines can only be used from 8 am to noon and then from 2 pm up to 7 pm. Never on Sundays.

I hate it when that happens
I would say a reasonable time to start is 9. But legally it's 7am here

@peachpurple Yeah it is.. but My dad told the neighbor and they don't do it at 7am anymore. They start at least 8am.

@peachpurple Oh, so a weekend for you would be Friday and Saturday, right? I know that is usually how it is in middle east countries but I didn't know that is also the way in Malaysia... I can't blame your husband for wanting to sleep in on Sunday morning.

@sishy7 Yes, it is a school day on Sunday. Off day is on Friday. The school is a 10 minutes drive away from my house but I don't drive. Hubby does but he prefers to sleep.

Quite annoyed to be honest. Our neighbor who lived next door was a retired fire fighter and he used to snow blow his driveway in the middle of the night!

@Hate2Iron Was he crazy to snow blow in the middle of the night? That is even worse than lawn mowing.

During the summer months there is so much construction on our street with neighbors putting in new driveways and so on. Not bothered by lawnmowers or any other noise as long as it is not before 8 AM.

@Freelanzer If it is construction work, we can't say anything. However, it is annoying for the kids or toddlers trying to sleep in the afternoon.

@maezee Nope, I didn't get a nap later because when my son comes back home, I had to tend to him and his homework. So, I was very grumpy

It's very irritating I say, I close all my windows , and doors. To avoid some noises at least
