This Is Not Funny Anymore! A Survivor Feeling!

Flowers in my home

Okay, now this is just not funny anymore. Yesterday afternoon  (Sunday) we all of a sudden lost water pressure. This happens more than one would think. So we had our usual grumble and shrug about it. However, half an hour later, we started receiving messages from friends. Someone on a construction site somewhere had hit a major water pipe, and water was gushing away, they had to drain our water towers and there was so much water around that pipe that had been hit, they could not establish where they would have to start working to fix it. Suffice to say we have been sitting without water for 20 hours now and they have not a clue when they will have our water back on and running. All water has been sold out at stores. We are now going to go and queue at gas stations and certain shopping centres where they have water tanks supplying water for our suburb. I always enjoyed watching Survivor, but between the constant power issues and now this water debacle, I feel like I am living on some freaking Island without basic amenities! And this from a Sunday into a Monday! I certainly hope where ever you are, you are having a better Monday! Take care every one. Photo is again of flowers in my home.

This is why we have water containers and buckets in case they do some maintenance on the pipes.

@Letranknight2015 , we did have water containers and buckets, it is just that after so many hours they run out. We are queuing for water being supplied by water trucks for now.

Hi, dear OT. Thank you. Yes, we're heading into just 24 hours without water. And they are still not certain when they can have it running again. I know so many around the world sit without water and I shouldn't complain, but well, pardon me, but, this sucks! I hope you'll have a good day though.

That's horrible to hear about your situation. I feel so bad for you not being able to access clean water. But, unlike Survivor, you don't have to worry about getting voted out of the tribe! Lol

@bluesa No, we certainly don't want you voted out! The tribe wouldn't be as fun without you!

I noticed your beautiful flowers before I read your discussion. That is a disastrous situation and not pleasant at all. I hope they fix your water problem asap, then work on that power situation. I'm so sorry you and your family have to go through this.

@DianneN thank you. Sadly it is nearly 15 minutes after midday by us and still no water. The damage was bigger than anyone thought. They are not certain when we will have working water again.

Thank you, Dianne, our whole suburb is in a state, we're all queuing to get water brought in on water trucks. Thank you, the flowers are a joy. It is 30 hours without water at the moment and they are still working to try to fix it.

@bluesa That is so long to be without water! Thank goodness they are supplying your suburb with water from the water trucks. I hope the problem is repaired by the time you wake up in the morning.

@bluesa yes, but the water is so poor in the morning. my sister often kids, her pee is stronger than the water coming out from the faucet.

They closed the water here for a short while yesterday (Monday) but we were told and were prepared for it. It happens occasionally but so far it has never been for more than 8 hours. I read your most recent post first and know that you still have no water. Hopefully they fix the problem very soon.

Sounds like things most of us would not want to deal with! Being without water is terrible and also having power issues-it can just be too much.

I hope your weather lightens up for you. I love my shows on TV, look forward to my favourites and know how frustrating it is when we can't see ...I'd love to live on an island, and feel like I do when weather makes life difficult.

Thank you, we're beyond freaking out right now, we're heading to 31 hours without water and no news on when they will have it working again. Just that they are working on it as best they can.
