Good afternoon my fellow mylotters!!
There just seems something funny about the 3 letter word,B-U-T when some one is telling you they were "going to" buy you something or they were "going to" do something for you...BUT....
For example the other day I heard the mother-in-law tell her son, that when she was "helping out" at an auction she was going to get me (the daughter-in-law that she told her son who I'm married to that she hates) a wicker furniture set, BUT.... Now, I'm thinking you hate me, why "act" like you're going to be nice to me!!!
Or my husband saying he was going to rub my back (for the last 3 nights) and last night he said "he would rub my back for me ,BUT he had a band aid on a cut on his finger and he didn't want the band aid to come off" as he uses lotion to rub my back with. Really, what was your BUT excuses the 3 days prior?
So whenever I hear some one say something and then they add "BUT" you know they have an excuse for something they weren't going to give or do anyway!!
~Peace~

Good thing the mother-in-law didn't know I was there, I would have told her why would you give something to some one you hate anyway?

I don't like the word. It is always ominous. Yes, excuses and changes to the plan.
