Just a Thought

I've been bored silly for the past week. I try to work on a book, but there's a vacation sign hung on my brain at the moment, so the story isn't going anywhere.
I've been watching a lot of movies. Have you ever noticed that nobody in those movies watches TV? They're out doing something. Have you ever read a book about people watching TV? The characters are doing something. They're getting out and making things happen in their lives.
Then you have kids. Unless their thumbs are glued to a game controller, they're out doing something. Even toddlers are always on the go.
So why am I just sitting here at the computer or watching TV instead of going out and DOING something?
There's a concert tonight at the Cup O' Joy downtown. I even looked up the information, but when I saw the new info for the club, I wasn't interested. Used to be you could just walk in and enjoy whatever was going on, on Friday or Saturday night. Now they have 'shows' and 'passes' to get in. No, not for me.
I'm going to need to look at community events to find something interesting and get involved somewhere. It's time I joined my brain on vacation for a while.
Don't worry, I'll still be here every day. I just need to do something different.
You know the definition for insanity right? Doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. Not going to happen. So I'm going to look into getting out of my apartment for a few hours a day, doing something.
What do you do besides sit at your computer, smartphone, laptop, tablet, iPad?
Thanks for reading.

I know the feeling you're dealing with. I go through that myself. It happens to al of us. All the places around by me to go out and maybe have a drink are too expensive these days. Not like years ago. I have also been watching a lot of movies. It does pass the time. And yes, those people in movies hardly every watch TV for more than a few seconds. Strange. I listen to music to break things up when they get crazy in my brain.

@inertia4 I hope you're able to. I'm on a common sense diet called Whole30. I just follow the directions and eat what is on the grocery list for it. I've cut out all dairy except eggs, all breads and grains, and all sweets and junk food. I don't miss any of it. It's a 30 day diet and I'm on day 12 of 30.

I also know that feeling too a few times I have been like that.
Its hard to have a social life where we are living at the moment so I don´t bother about that much.
I find other things to do.
Maybe you could go to that picnic with whatever food you are supposed to be eating and enjoy their company.

@just4him
Perhaps you could join them later with a diet drink or something just saying.
You could say you are up to your neck in work on your book something like that.

It is sad that it takes so much to get into see or do things. I need to get out more myself. There is always something going on in town and I need to go these things. I did get to watch the Peach Fest parade before I started my sale. It was fun. I went to the Peach Fest once and it is not for me.

@just4him Yes, a nephew, Jason, who is 2 years older than our son is, will be getting married. He's the youngest of the 3 kids in his family, and the first to marry. They will say their vows on a beach that they love to visit, he fishes off of it. Its a very fitting location for the 2 of them to seal the deal.

Because of finances I don't do as much as I should. However, we do go out the odd time for a meal or even walk to the park- I'm a shopper and even though I mostly 'just look' lately- it gets me out!

That's so true. They all are busy doing something. There is a saying here , those who don't have any work only they watch TV and waste their time. May be it's true.
