The most significant thing about the movie, Kidnap, is that it brought attention to missing and exploited children. As of December 31, 2016, the FBI National Crime Information Center reported an active list of 88,040 missing children, 33,706 were under 18. Kidnap also brought attention to just how fast an abduction takes place, and how easy.
When I was living in San Diego between 1972-1980 with a year on Guam, one thing I heard every night at 11 PM was, It’s 11 PM, Parents, do you know where your children are. My son was born in 1973 and I didn’t think anything about that little reminder to parents. Yet because of the movie, and the facts surrounding missing children, it is clear there is a need for every parent to know where their children are and that they are safe.
There’s an AMBER alert for a reason. A child is missing and there is information. The alert was started when a child named Amber Hagerman was abducted and murdered in 1996. The alert to date is responsible for the safe return of 868 children.
We need to bring all children home safe to their parents. We need to bring those responsible to justice, seeking the full extent of the law. The AMBER alert on your phone is there for a reason. Pay attention to it and keep your eyes open. You might bring a child safely home and see justice done.

I have Amber alert on my phone. Parents do need to pay more attention to where their children are. Even though they may go to the same park or somewhere else and nothing has ever happened doesn't mean that it can't. One never knows when something might happen.

Its so sad that people would harm a child. They should go to jail and stay there.

I think they should be tattooed. Made to clean public toilets. Sweep the streets, empty dustbins. Everything about them should go viral. They should not have any rights to property within the country. Their only chance to dignity would be to go on front and die for their country.

It has always amazed me that more is not done about those who are missing. It seems the laws should allow for searching of every residence, vehicles and more in areas where someone is missing.
We followed a case in Florida where a man had a child in his home (authorities at his door did not know this) and the residence could not be searched w/o a warrant. By the time the warrant was obtained, he had killed and disposed of the little child!
Better laws are needed, but not sure how these could happen.
