We Got Extra Time

So as I have mentioned before, my mom, step dad, and sister came down to visit this past weekend. I was happy yet also a little upset because they were really only going to be here for less than 24 hours, but I intended on making the most of the time that we had together. When they arrived I had said to my mom that I wished they could stay until Monday because they were planning on leaving Sunday night. And she shared the same sentiments. As they were leaving, my husband and I decided to go to the store to grab some more food we were running low on and we ended up catching up and seeing them as they left our area. Once we got to the grocery store I realized I didn't have my phone and in the back of my mind I thought that some one important was going to try and get a hold of me while I didn't have it because that always seemed the case. I shook it off though and just enjoyed the little errand with my husband. When we got back home my mother in law asked me what was going on with my mom and I had no clue what she meant. She told me my mom had tried to call her an hour prior and when she tried to call her back she didn't answer. I found my phone and had 10 missed calls and texts from my mom and sister. When I saw the text from my mom saying that they needed help I felt so horrible about forgetting my phone at home. I called her and asked what was going on. Turns out their car broke down on them 7 minutes from our house so they had been there for a little over an hour trying to get a hold of me or my mother in law and even my husband but his phone never made a sound. I felt so guilty because of it. We managed to get them back to the house and the car as well. The next day we got to spend most of the day together until they fixed the car and were able to leave in the afternoon. We got more time together but I still felt so bad because if I had not asked them to come visit this wouldn't have happened. My step dad ended up missing that day of work. I called my mom Tuesday night and found out that he ended up losing his job even though through no fault of his own he wasn't able to get back in time. Have you ever been stranded some where?
