library day

I've needed to go to the library for well over a week, and now books are very overdue. I wanted to get out the door in time for the toddler storytime, but the little man was still eating his breakfast. We'll go soon, and he'll still get to play with toys and read books, just not have the storytime that I was hoping for.
I wish I could just go on my own with a cup of coffee, sit in the magazine section and read the newest issue of the New Yorker. Sadly, that's not in the cards.

It's good to know you don't rush your child! By all means let him enjoy his morning and his breakfast, too many kids are rushed these days!
I renew my books online to avoid fees, do you have that service there? In fact, I get a notice every few weeks that they have been automatically renewed and here is the new due date. I used to read a lot more but since I quit smoking last year I don't need to keep a book outside to give me something entertaining to do while I pollute my poor lungs. I know I should not get more than one book at a time but it's so damned hot here that I want to go out as little as possible and getting 2-3 books means I don't have to to to the library as often!

@spiderdust Oh yes, I've used a system like that before to read a book I could not get anywhere else. It was the last book in the "Good Earth" series by Pearl Buck. They had to send out of state for it! You'd better believe I read that one ASAP!!!

They had already been renewed once, unfortunately. They had to be returned, especially since one was borrowed through the LINK+ system (interlibrary loan... I had one from a library in Sacramento, hours away from me).

@dragon54u I also understand completely about trying to limit how many times you have to run out to the library. I really should just get one week's worth of books at a time.

I went to the library last week, first time in forever, and I felt like the proverbial kid in a candy store! Did you and your little enjoy your visit?

It did not work out as planned, but I at least got the fines paid. The library opened later than I remembered, so we went to the park while waiting... but then he was an overtired crab after we had been at the library for 10 minutes. I also got mixed up as to what day had storytime, so that didn't work out still.
