As many of you know, we are having our second wedding of the century. Our younger son is getting married this fall.
All plans have been made, right down to every little detail. It's all been very exciting.
Our only problem was the jewelry for my gorgeous gown. Yes, was.
That darling husband of mine recently returned from our favorite local jewelry store, unbeknownst to me, with a very pretty diamond and white gold bracelet for me! He is the only one who purchases my jewelry and won't allow me to buy my own. Years ago he made that very clear. He either buys it alone, or I am with him. He even designs my important pieces himself with our favorite jewelers.
I can tell you that I am very, very pleased and so relieved. I just need to have it made smaller.

You know me like a book! lol I'm a perfectionist. I also bought gorgeous Jimmy Choo shoes in Boston. Everything must flow and go together. The only one who will look better in every way is the bride! I wish I could show you her gown. Plus, it looks fabulous on her. You know the saying - you get what you pay for. She's had two alterations already, and at least one to go, all professionally done. I can't wait to see my son's face when she walks down the aisle on her daddy's arm.

Did he know that shark was swimming around him when the photo was taken?
haha just kidding! But I bet you looked a little more closely at that photo!
I'm glad your super stud takes good care of you with lovely jewelry! And apparently he must have good taste, because you seem to love what he gets you!

You are so lucky. Now you don't need to worry about taking the pieces and having them dipped. This is so sweet of him and I think he was just making you feel bad when he said NO. He knew he was going to buy this for you. He didn't want you to wear some of your older stuff with such a beautiful dress. The mother of the groom has to look her best. He is making sure that you sparkle this night. Good job Hubby

@DianneN I understand he would never make you feel bad. I just remember you telling me how he kept saying NO, NO, NO to any new bracelets or rings. I think it is wonderful that he did this and how concerned he is about you and the beautiful jewelry he has boughten for you over the years. You are very lucky to have such a loving, caring, and kind husband. You two make the perfect couple. Even if I don't know you in person I have a good understanding from all we have talked about and reading your discussions on here. Wear that new bracelet with a giant smile on your face and make sure you show it off every chance you get. Have fun and I am so excited that he did this for you yesterday.

@poehere Oh, no problem at all. Secretly in my heart, I knew he'd cave. He always does. And thanks so much for your kind words. He and I are a team. I met him in my sophomore year of college, and that was it for us. I certainly will be smiling the day of the wedding due to watching my son and his fiancée marry. The bracelet is just icing on the cake.

My older stuff is magnificent, if I have to say so myself. My husband didn't want to risk it being ruined. It's a work of fine craftsmanship and a one of a kind bracelet, which he paid a fortune for. No, he would never make me feel bad, ever, on purpose. I have no idea when he decided to go out to buy me something that would go with the dress, but boy, was I ever surprised! I think he was miffed about buying me so much in Boston and the fact that I have so much jewelry already. Perhaps he got a hint the night before when I told him that I would be just fine in my few crummy, every day white gold bracelets. I even told him that the color in a David Yurmam bracelet he bought me would probably go well enough with the gown. Lol! He knows how I am.

@kobesbuddy I look better in yellow with my coloring, but a friend told me the contrast looked great on me. She switched to sterling and white gold. lol My gown screams for white gold.
