I Purchased Some More Post Cards Yesterday

Yesterday, when I went to the chiropractor, I asked if anyone knew where I might purchase some post cards on that side of town. The receptionist actually called a couple places that SHE thought would probably sell them and she DID find out that a Pharmacy that I could easily get to on my way home had post cards. So, I took the time to go by that Pharmacy. They did indeed have LOTS of post cards AND they were VERY NICE post cards, but they were $1.99 each. The Pharmacy where I usually purchase post cards, sells theirs 2 for $1.75. So, I opted to go back to my regular place. I got TEN post cards for $8.75, instead of the $19.90 I would have had to pay for 10 post cards at the other store. I’m really looking forward to a HUGE Post Card sale in November at the Community College here. I’ve never been to this annual event before, but I heard that they will have some post cards for 10 cents, 15 cents and up. I hope to stock up. I'm also hoping to join a Post Card Club that I found out about a couple months ago. It costs $15 to join. I'm going to try to find out more about it this week. Like what the benefits are? And if I am required to attend meetings or what? The postage to send a postcard to another country is $1.15 and so far I have sent out 101 post cards over the last 8 months. I’ve got another one ready to mail today. Of course, I am receiving almost as many as I am sending out, so I don’t mind the cost. It’s been really interesting since I joined Postcrossing.com. I have received a lot of nice post cards and now I have them all displayed in an album. I love all the pretty stamps too. It’s a FUN hobby, I think. And not that expensive.

I find it amusing that it costs more to send a card overseas than to buy the postcard. Here in England the price is even higher, being £1.17.

@IreneVincent I accept that, but some countries manage to offer decent prices. When I was in Malta last year it only cost 53 cents for a worldwide postcard.

Yes, postage here just keeps going up and up. But, there is a lot involved in getting the mail around the world.

Yes, I am really enjoying it. I'm calling tomorrow about another Post Card Club here in my area. I want to see what all is involved in joining it. It's $15 to join and that's about all I know right now.

@JudyEv I didn't get to call about the Post Card Club today. I actually forgot about it as I was busy with several other things. But, I will call tomorrow and let you know what I find out.

Yes, now that I finally figured out how to display my post cards in an album, I am enjoying it even better. I've been able to show off my collection to several people and they are impressed.
